FAQs

How long are the sessions?

Regular sessions are 50 minutes, with time reserved afterward for me to record therapy notes.

For those who need more time, double sessions are 100 minutes, which can be especially helpful when exploring complex topics. 20 minutes are left for me to record my therapy notes.

What’s a “normal” session like?

Each session is unique, but a “normal” session follows a rhythm of catching up since we last met, checking in on progress areas, processing pain points, and what strides are able to be implemented into life once session ends.

What are your office hours?

I am able to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from mid-morning to late-afternoon and occasional evenings. I value being able to be flexible for clients whenever possible.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, I do! I offer sessions through HIPAA-compliant telehealth calls, either video or phone.

Can we skip a phone consult and schedule immediately?

I value the phone consultation because it’s our first chance to connect and begin getting to know each other. This brief conversation can go a long way toward helping you feel more comfortable.

During our call, I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’ve been experiencing. You’ll also get a feel for my approach, how I respond, and whether I might be a good fit for you.

Because this conversation is such an important part of the intake process, I usually schedule appointments only after we’ve had this initial chance to talk.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel an appointment in order to avoid being charged the full session fee. Because it’s often difficult to fill late-cancelled sessions, this policy helps me keep my schedule available for all clients.

If you’re able to reschedule for another time within the same week, I’m happy to waive the cancellation fee for that missed session.

What areas do you work with?

I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking help with anxiety, depression, stress, nervous system regulation, breaking free from emotional abuse, processing trauma, recovery from sexual addiction, and many more.

I work with individuals across a range of ages, including adults, teens, and children ages 12 and up. No matter what we are working on, I provide a supportive space tailored to your stage of life and unique needs.

Which theories do you draw from?

I am an eclectic therapist, because there are so many incredible theories of counseling out there, which meet the individual needs of unique people!

I primarily draw from Emotion Focused Individual Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Does faith have to come into counseling?

You as the client get to decide this! While I practice my own faith, I am careful to not allow this to be a bias for our time together in the office. My clients are encouraged to let me know where their level of comfort is regarding spirituality and faith, and that sets the standard of this topic in our work together.

Where are you located?

My office is easily reached, located south of the Woodlands Mall, just one block in from the southbound feeder at:

26205 Oak Ridge Drive

Suite 102

The Woodlands, TX 77380

Is there paperwork to do before starting therapy?

Yes there is! I will send it to you after we schedule our first appointment.

How much do sessions cost?

My fee is $110 for a 50 minute session.

How long should I attend therapy?

The length of therapy varies for each person, depending on your goals, needs, and the pace that feels right for you. Some clients find that a shorter course of therapy—often around three months—provides the support and progress they’re looking for, while others choose to continue longer for deeper exploration and ongoing growth.

What if we don’t “fit”?

A good therapist–client fit is essential for effective therapy, and sometimes it takes a conversation or two to know if we’re the right match. If at any point you feel that my style isn’t the best fit for you, I will fully support your decision and can offer referrals to other therapists who may better meet your needs. My goal is for you to find the right support—whether that’s with me or someone else.

Do you accept insurance?

I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t work directly with insurance companies. However, if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide the necessary documentation for you to submit a claim and request reimbursement based on your policy’s coverage.

Why did you become a therapist?

I have a passion for helping people feel heard and seen, and I noticed that at a very young age. I watched a beloved family member find great meaning in this profession, and that inspired me to commit myself to impacting the world like they had done. That decision led me to an amazing journey I hope to continue for my whole life!

Who benefits from therapy?

Therapy can be helpful for anyone looking for support, understanding, or personal growth. It offers a safe space to talk through challenges, explore emotions, and discover new ways of approaching life.
